Two new Long Haul destinations for SWISS

Hello everyone!

Very exciting news from SWISS today.

As of March 2020, they will add two new long haul destinations to their schedule from Zurich.

  1. Washington, USA
  2. Osaka, Japan

Osaka will be the second destination in Japan where SWISS will fly to while Washington is a great addition to New York and Boston at the Atlantic coast of the USA.

It would be nice to see a Swiss Boeing 777 in the island of Osaka! 🇯🇵

Very nice adds. Looks like IAD will compliment United’s existing Geneva and Zurich flights.

Lufthansa is supposedly announcing two new U.S. routes from MUC and one new Indian route. Can’t wait to see the 2020 TATL adds!

Awesome! Always love seeing airlines expand their route network

Sorry to break it to you

Osaka isn’t an island

@anon45500775 I know. 😂

Well, Osaka is a “Man-Made” Island!

That’s not true either

Kansai airport is a man-made island. Not Osaka itself

Kansai Airport not Kansas Airport

Oh sorry I forgot about autocorrect.

Ohh RJBB. Kind of surprised by that decision. They don’t fly to Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, and Hanoi to name a few in Asia. Kansai region is a big market, but Ōsaka is very expensive to fly to. They have ANA there so hopefully the codeshare works well.

Hmmm…interesting…

@Pilot_urp the reason they don’t fly to those places is likely due to not enough demand to necessitate a direct flight there.
