This topic is a follow up to the one above. Turns out I was stalling on takeoff because I was rotating at a too slow speed, 140kts when I should have been doing so at 165kts. Once I changed that, everything was smooth sailing to Denpasar.
As a side note, I’d like to say I’m not a fan of the B787, it’s too pitch sensitive, and any small correction can throw your approach off, I hope this gets corrected once the reworked version is released.
I would also like to thank those who helped me in the above topic. I’ll now be using the T/O and Landing performace charts on Simbrief for my speeds.
Great shots from the trip, they really add a nice touch to the post. I always enjoy seeing someone flying with Turkish Airlines, it just makes me smile every time
For what it’s worth, on more sensitive aircraft like the 787 I’ve found that lowering the control sensitivity actually helps a lot, especially during approach and landing.
I usually usea IFAssistant for V1, VR, and V2 since it calculates the speeds based on the selected aircraft and current weight. For fuel, weight, and load distribution, I pull everything from SimBrief so everything stays consistent.
Not sure if this setup works for everyone, but it’s been pretty solid for me so far. Might be worth a try.
