The Touristik Union International (TUI), the forerunner of today’s TUI Deutschland GmbH, was founded on December 1, 1968 in Hanover as a merger of the medium-sized tour operators Touropa, Scharnow-Reisen, Hummel Reisen and Dr. Tigges trips were founded – the “big four” German travel providers at the time.
TUI Deutschland GmbH is the tourism market leader in Germany and a wholly owned subsidiary of the TUI Group. The tour operator based in Hanover is not only responsible for the creation of vacation trips, but also for their distribution and marketing on the German market.
