They don’t need to remove them completely from smaller airports. They could just get their lazy TSA agents to go the smaller airports and the TSA agents that actually do a good job to the bigger airports… lol
There already is, it’s just rarely enforced. 9/11 could have been stopped if the FBI agents who were actually tracking the offending subjects prior to the attack kept the trail. They stooped tracking them for no apparent reason, probably another “budget cut”.
How bout have TSA agents replaced by police officers… it could be more intimidating
Also the fact is that planes travelling to and from and even within the US have to follow strict security checks given they are the biggest target, all planes and airports are to follow strict rules just for those planes and yes it’s far more extreme then flights to the EU or even Asia. And there will be extra checks on people for every flight which comes from the US government. I think the Europeans are better at this then the Americans at their own game it seems from what everyone is saying.
The perfect airport security is the airport security at Tel Aviv. It would take more than a century for the TSA to actually start taking action like that
I managed to accidentally pass through Heathrow’s security with a knife once, and medication containing nitrates, which should be picked up in the explosives scan. TSA and most airport security is Useless and poorly managed.
Kodiak Alaska has TSA agents. I am 100% sure no one from Kodiak Alaska will attempt to take a jet down lol
I’m not a fan, at least until convinced otherwise.
The way I see it, anywhere there is a gap, the chances of it being exploited become much higher. It’s a risk I don’t think we should really be running for 100+ airports. Hate to only see the worst in people… but a Murphy’s law type of thing comes to mind.
Lol ok maybe airports in mostly Alaska, and maybe Hawaii but some regional airports in the us are serving medium size cities.
Too be honest I think security in the Middle East is lousy, I feel safer with the security in Europe.
@Cpt.TC how big was the knife? I don’t know if you realise but in airside restaurants you can steal a steak knife if you really wanted and take it onboard. It’s not that much of a concern, mainly drugs and bomb materials.
It’s a bit like the UK’s wise decision to arm all police at train stations with automatic weapons. It has drastically reduced train attacks and none have happened since.
Drugs over a knife? Lol
The knife was 6 or 7 inches
Honestly i don’t think it’ll affect that many people. For domestic flights now, people under 18 don’t need to show any proof of identity, so I guess what’s the point if for some travelers, they don’t even know if you truly are who u are
That would be more common in s America
Good I hate TSA with a passion they are the most unpleasant people to tourists visiting the country all they do is shout at you if they are having a bad day this probably happens to citizens aswell but I have had bad experiences going through there security program my opinion
They know you don’t have weapons or explosives on you…
Countries in South America need step their game up then lol which they do, if you’re doing any type of drug mule you’re screwed
Regional airlines in Alaska that fly 20 seat prop planes are different than 60 seat regional jets.
You know what I think TSA is doing wrong. The food situation from international flights
