Hello IFC Dwellers!
I’ve recently got back from a trip on the other side of the state, in which I stopped by PDX before leaving. PDX is the largest airport in Oregon, and sees a fair amount of action as well as housing the 142nd Air National Guard squads. Anyway on to some of my high lights as I try out my new Panasonic DC-ZS200 on the 14th of June at Portland International!
- As I began my trek to position myself at the end of 10L/28R, I was greeted by an American Eagle E175 (N511SY) off to Los Angeles! This was my first sighting on this visit, and honestly my favorite photo, but not my favorite sighting of the day.
2) F-15C number 1 caught me well off guard, and I scrambled to ready my camera, knowing I could still catch it, and I was expecting more because knew they almost never fly alone. You bet if I wasn’t awake before, I was now!
3) Sure enough a second F-15 followed the first, and a third did too (due to RWA photo limit I didn’t include it)
4) Right after the third F-15, a fourth - and last - F-15 followed suit. I did keep an eye out in case there happened to be a tanker or something that departed after them, but there was none.
.
5) Right as the F-15s finished departing, a Delta 737-900 (N818DA) had rotated into the sky off of runway 28R headed to Atlanta
6) Shortly after a Southwest 737-800 (N8523W) depart for its trip over to Chicago Midway.
7) Alaska Horizon E175 climbing out of runway 28L, headed off to Santa Barbara.
8) A few minutes later, a United 737-800 (N78509) took off for its flight down to San Francisco.
9) This United 737-900 (N38403) quickly departed just after the previous 737. This one was off to Houston.
10) I spy one Gulf Air 787 hanging around what I believe to be some painting hangars.
