Trying 6 Different Spots at Amsterdam

Hello, IFC!

Here are some pictures I took at Amsterdam Schiphol (EHAM). I tried many different spotting locations, so there are quite a few different angles.

This airport is amazing for spotting. 10/10 would recommend.

First is this DHL Airbus A300. I’m happy I finally got to spot this plane before it retires.

Next up is this close-up shot of a GE90 on a KLM 777-200ER

A Martinair Cargo 747-400, a @Jan favorite

Another Jan favorite, the KLM Orange Pride 777-300ER taking off with Marimekko in the background

Another 747, this time sporting the Saudia livery, and smokey engines N°1 and N°4

A LATAM 787 banking left after departure

Some little… dolphins? On an A350-900

Last but not least, a KLMalta E175NEO

Hello, Camille! Amazing catches! What was your favorite spot? I may go spotting there soon…

For 24 departures and 06 arrivals, I’d recommend the meadow at (52.285123, 4.735531) in the morning and the spot next to the bike lane at (52.286116, 4.729031) in the midday/afternoon

For 18C/36C action, I’d recommend one of the spots at (52.305514, 4.731044) or (52.315788, 4.731995) (They’re little unofficial parking spots next to a field, but only nice in the afternoon)

For 36L departures and 18R arrivals, I’d recommend parking at (52.342139, 4.706468) and walking up the footpath that goes along the runway

There’s also a spot at (52.282477, 4.776501) for 18L departures and 36R arrivals, but I would not recommend it unless you have a very very good zoom on your lens.

There’s also an observation deck above the departures 1 terminal which can be nice but has a lot of heat haze from APUs.
