TRIPREPORT: Jet Smart | Cali (CLO) -> Cartagena (CTG) | Economy | Airbus A320neo

Good morning everybody from Cali, Colombia! :colombia: we’re we had another great time back in the motherland. Mostly because we barely spent time in Cali and instead were on the outskirts of the city apart from yesterday and Friday night so I can’t really say how Cali is now in 2025 but it did look similar to when I was last here which is fine.

After a brief 15 minute drive from the farm we’ve been staying at, welcome to Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International Airport which is located in Palmira but lends it services to the city of Cali. This time however, we will pass the international terminal and instead head to the less impressive but still nice domestic terminal as we are flying to Cartagena rather than back to the US :united_states: it kind of reminds me of concourses E and F in both Miami :desert_island::smiling_face_with_sunglasses: and Fort Lauderdale :desert_island::motor_boat: but slightly more modern and less crowded which is always a plus. Dropping of our checked bags went pretty smooth unfortunately still nothing on the robbery that happened on our flight to CLO but the security check locked long but it truly wasn’t and we were soon in the departures hall. We stopped to get a small breakfast of a turkey sandwich which was pretty and good and it was soon off to the gate to await our aircraft.

FLIGHT INFO:

Origin: Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International (SKCL) :colombia:
Destination: Cartagena Rafael Núñez Airport (SKCG) :colombia:
Flight Time: 1:04
Airbus A320neo (JetSmart)
Server: None (Real Life)

Taking me and the family to Cartagena this late morning will be CC-DIP an October 2024 built Airbus A320neo carrying a toucan on the tail. I wonder if this aircraft will have a new plane smell.

Boarding was fine but it took forever to get from the gate down the jet bridge to the aircraft which costed us an on time departure but it’s whatever.

This aircraft has the exact same cabin interior as my previous flight on JetSmart so I won’t go into any specifics again. I’m seated in 5F which once again isn’t the most comfortable seat but it will do fine for this 1 hour hop to Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Our taxi out was a bit complex thanks to some work on the taxiway we backtracked part of the runway to end of runway 02 for take off.

Till the next time Cali!

This is a pretty short flight so the crew probably didn’t want to waste any time in terms of getting the service done. Meaning that the literal second the captain tuned off the seatbelt sign, the began preparing the cart.

We reached our cruising altitude of 36,000ft just a bit away from Medellin and the crew began their service immediately which I didn’t get anything from since nothing is free even water is extra.

The crew also seemed very friendly they helped me get to my seat when boarding since somebody was sitting in it and politely corrected them to move so 5 stars :star::star::star::star::star:

As for entertainment, nothing is available no plugs, WiFi anything. So plan accordingly download something before departure, bring a charging bank or just put your phone down and enjoy the views out the window like I did with Medellín.

We started our descent pretty soon after, we basically approached straight into CTGs RWY 01.

As we got closer and closer to Cartagena, the visibility started to drop and drop looking like as if it was raining but thankfully, it wasn’t.

Here we are, on final for CTGs RWY 01 still with the poor visibility but with an additional side of turbulence which is fine during cruise but when I’m trying to record a landing, I’d prefer it not be windy but it’s fine either way.

TOUCHDOWN! Welcome back to Cartagena, now the same expectations I had for the previous flight apply to this one, seats are okay but not the best, met, no WiFi, met, no plugs, met but the service did shock me the first time and it was still cool to see it on this flight even though I didn’t get anything but I’d only truly choose JetSmart if the price is truly right. If it’s still barely cheaper than Avianca or LATAM I’d choose the competition instead.

It’s nice to be back at Rafael Núñez International Airport mainly since the weather is the closest we’ll get to the weather back home but also deplaning/boarding through air stairs. Our aircraft would soon depart to Medellín and behind is the aircraft planned to take us back home to Fort Lauderdale :desert_island::motor_boat: Friday, the Spirit Airlines Airbus A321 although I’d prefer an equipment swap to the Neo. This time when we collected our bag it was closed and NOTHING was robbed unlike last time. We soon got into and uber and made our way to the apartment to meet with the rest of my family and enjoy Cartagena for the few days we have.

That will be regarding this flight from Cali to Cartagena, Colombia :colombia: on JetSmart stay tuned for Friday as we return to the states and as always between now and the next time, see you in the sky!:waving_hand:
