Before we begin the first segment of this “last minute” May trip I’d like to say that originally my plan for this month was to go down to São Paulo, Brazil as it’s a big destination I’m also yet to cover along with visiting the Brazilian capital of Brasilia while also not only covering American Airlines main cabin long haul on the Boeing 777-300RR but also fly GOL and experience the infamous São Paulo Congonhas Airport. Unfortunately, 25.1 came with a bunch of replay bugs which made making content out of pretty hard and annoying. Today the glitches were ironed out but I didn’t feel like going down there and just decided to move it to December right before the holidays and instead be more local this time, thank you for understanding and let’s get into this trip!
Good morning from Aventura, FL where I’m currently on I-95 making my way down to Miami more specifically Miami International Airport to embark on a short, simple, Memorial Day trip up to New York City
like I said above, I was originally planning on going to Brazil
this month but couldn’t because of the reasons explained above. I’m a bit bummed because of that but don’t get it twisted, I’m still pretty excited for this trip to NYC
as I always enjoy going over there and while I could’ve departed my home airport of Palm Beach International, I decided to come down to MIA for one specific reason Boeing 777-300ER this magnificent beast is the flagship aircraft for American Airlines which is primarily reserved for premium long haul routes like flights to London, UK
but you will find it running the occasional domestic hop usually between MIA and JFK which is the route we’ll be doing today in main cabin, I’m glad your joining me this morning!
I’m flying solo up to NYC with only a personal item and carry on and as I usually check in online, it was straight to security for me and once again thanks to my pre check it was a breeze! AA uses the north terminal concourse D as its base of operations for their Latin American/Caribbean market. If you’re flying to a major city in Latin America, American has you covered with a MIA layover. Due to the big Cuban
influence in Miami, there’s a lot of Cuban restaurants across the airport one of my personal favorites easily being Cafe Versailles which was vital at this time of day. Our departure gate wasn’t far at all from the cafe so I was able to sip on my cafe con leche
while watching our aircraft pull into gate D21 from the stands after its flight from London Heathrow the evening before.

Naturally with the B77W being AAs biggest aircraft and flagship, it contains the most seats out of any aircraft in the fleet with 304 across 4 soon to be 3 classes, 8 soon to be replaced flagship first suites utilizing Safran Flagship Suites in a 1-2-1 configuration. 52 Safran Cirrus II seats also in a 1-2-1 configuration making up the flagship business cabin. 28 2-3-2 arranged Collins Aerospace MiQ seats for the premium economy cabin and the remaining 216 economy seats in the typical 3-4-3 configuration using Safran 5751 slimlines, 28 of those seats are extra legroom main cabin extra seats. My seat will be towards the rear of the forward economy cabin 27A which was AMAZING, good padding, decent legroom and an IFE screen but I should’ve expected this from a long haul aircraft. We boarded and pushed back on time but due to heavy traffic, we were sitting on the taxiway in line for a good 15-20 minutes before we could make use of MIAs runway 8R for take off!
Till Tuesday Miami!

Flying over Miami

We’d be cursing at 37,000ft for this ride up the east coast and spending it over the Atlantic Ocean for the first portion of the flight before hugging the coast line for the remainder of the flight.
The crew soon started the service and even with a long haul aircraft, we’re still getting short haul service consisting of biscoff cookies and a choice of beverage which I chose a Coke to accompany my cookie it was plentiful and all I really needed on this flight as I can wait till I land in New York
for lunch. The crew were also really good, the purser specifically was retiring and he made sure not only he had a good retirement flight, but we all had a good one to 4 stars to them!
As for IFE, the Panasonic eX2 AVOD system with live TV is featured along with Panasonic high speed satellite Wi-Fi for a fee of course which I avoided although free WiFi is coming soon for AAdvanatge members but that’s not until 2026. I saw Wicked on the IFE which is a movie I’ve been wanting to watch for some time but couldn’t because the runtime is 2 hours and 40 minutes while this flight is 2 hour and 13 minutes. So I simply just popped on 21 jump street and enjoyed the ride up north!
Around 30 minutes into the movie and we’re flying back over land by Wilmington, NC!
Soon enough, we flew right by Atlantic City, NJ meaning it was soon time to begin our descent into New York

Flying over Long Beach, NY located on Long Island as we begin the final approach for JFKs RWY 31R.
TOUCHDOWN! Welcome to New York City!

Ahhh it’s definitely been a while since I’ve been at John F. Kennedy International Airport, the last time also being almost 2 years ago and while nothings changed in that time, it was definitely a refresher to be back. Unfortunately our arrival gate pretty much had no views of the aircraft and in order to get the best picture, I had to get to the satellite building across the ramp to take it and while it isn’t the best, it’ll do for now. Our aircraft is now off to a normal destination for this aircraft Heathrow and as for me, it was straight out the terminal as I didn’t have any checked bags and made my way towards the subway to get to a restaurant in Jamaica to eat lunch with my friend. That’ll be it regarding my flight on American’s flagship Boeing 777-300ER in main cabin from Miami

Oh and one more thing, @Anthony_Gulluscio summon
