Hello everybody and good morning from Lima, Peru ๐ต๐ช one of the most UNDERRATED cities in this entire continent it was truly spectacular and even Peru in general is a hidden gem down here. Most tourists from the USA ๐บ๐ธ always head to Brazil ๐ง๐ท which was good at least of the 2 places Iโve been to within the country but nothing truly worth it in my opinion. Peru on the other hand exceeded my expectations, the people were friendly, the food was good and most importantly the sights were amazing you can definitely see me coming back especially to Cusco since unfortunately I never got the time to check out which really sucks since the flight there is definitely a bucket list item for most aviation enthusiasts since the airport is pretty high up and itโs pretty mountainous but Iโm happy I did get what I could done and I definitely will have to return to this lovely country and check Cusco off the list. After a pretty brief cab ride from my hotel, we have arrived at Limaโs Jorge Chavez International Airport the primary gateway to Peru ๐ต๐ช today we will be flying American Airlines in their main cabin extra to Miami ๐๏ธ๐ on their Airbus A321 in case you didnโt read the title. Iโm glad I did get here in time because the check in lines were full even though I was already checked in online, there was no separate area for dropping off bags so I had to wait in this line. Once I finally got that done I went through a pretty painless security and immigration check before finally being here in the departures hall. No lounges unfortunately so I simply decided to head to a bakery to get a ham and cheese croissant and some coffee โ๏ธ๐ฅ as a light breakfast that will serve me well until lunch time back in the 305. ๐๏ธ๐ After breakfast I made my way to the gate to check out our aircraft taking me back home this morning.

Here is N439AN a November 2021 built Airbus A321 delivered straight to American who has been sitting here since 3am after arriving from MIA. Our flight is either the first or last flight back since the 2 other flights that come to LIM depart back before midnight except this one. A red eye back home would be better but we all know the immigration status in MIA early in the morning so Iโm glad I decided to take this flight instead. Boarding soon commenced and thanks to my status I was the first one to board after the usual pre boarders and business class passengers.
This A321 has the same configuration as the one that brought me down here so Iโm not really gonna go back through everything again but it is 190 seats in total with 20 in first class and 170 in economy with my seat, 9F being one of the 35 extra legroom main cabin extra seats. Usually these seats are extra to reserve but thanks to my status once again, it was free of charge and it definitely provides good engine views and is decently comfortable for the flights this plane makes. Without further delay, letโs pushback and taxi to LIMs runway 15 for take off!
Bye bye Lima!
My right side seat definitely was a great choice as right after take off, we did a sharp right turn towards the Pacific giving me this GORGEOUS view over Lima and the surrounding areas.
After another uneventful climb we reached our cruising altitude of 30,000ft passing right by the beautiful Andes Mountains ๐๏ธ and my goodness do they shine more in the day! ๐ the crew once again wasted no time in getting this service started since it was still fairly early and wanted to leave the cabin uninterrupted for a good majority of the flight to let people rest. We got some biscoff cookies and I chose some apple juice as the beverage since it was still early ๐ช๐ง once again, this is a great service but not enough for a flight of this length and this is the ONLY food service weโll have we only get refreshments before landing so if you take this flight, Iโd eat before hand. The crew werenโt the most engaging given the time but my few interactions with them were positive so 3 stars for them! โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ as far as entertainment goes, your personal device will have to get the job done as these planes lack personal IFE screens. This aircraft is equipped with Wi-Fi for a fee and streaming entertainment is available at no extra cost and while I do prefer to have screens, I donโt truly mind if they are absent unlike most airline reviewers on the internet. But for this first part of the flight, I simply listened to some music ๐ต and enjoyed the views of the mountains below.
These scenic views remained for the couple of minutes we had still over Peru ๐ต๐ช and didnโt stop as we reached Ecuador ๐ช๐จ with even getting a small view over the nations capital of Quito but once we passed the coast, it was all over. At this point I settled into see what we had available to watch and decided to pop on some South Park since I havenโt seen it in quite some time.
What happens when you watch a show you havenโt seen in a while? You get glued to it and I was no exception. I had NO idea we flew by Panama ๐ต๐ฆ and the Cayman Islands ๐ฐ๐พ๐๏ธand was only interrupted once we reached an outage zone near Cuba ๐จ๐บ and around this time the 2nd beverage service came around in which I asked for a Coke ๐ฅคand at this point it was time to almost begin our approach into Miami ๐๏ธ๐ our approach would have us fly over the Florida Keys before flying over part of the Everglades ๐ before tuning directly east to land on RWY 09.
Our time over the keys and Everglades wasnโt long and we soon started flying over Krome Ave with the rest of Miamiโs ๐๏ธ๐ western suburbs appearing along with Floridaโs Turnpike and Dolphin Expressway indicating that not only are we overlaying Dolphin Mall ๐ฌ๐๏ธ but we were soon approaching MIA.
TOUCHDOWN! Welcome back to Miami ๐๏ธ๐ everybody marking the end of this fantastic trip. Once again, I thought this was a great flight, the seat was good, crew was nice and the IFE was sufficient but like the last time, I do think that the service needs an upgrade, the final beverage is fine but one snack service isnโt. Even a small sandwich ๐ฅช would be fine with me but I do still think American Airlines is a good choice to take when flying to Peru ๐ต๐ช just remember to eat something before hand.
Just like that, here we are back at Miami International Airport on our way to immigration ๐ which didnโt take long since this isnโt a peak hour for international arrivals but we were alone as we had flights from Cancun, Mexico ๐ฒ๐ฝ George Town and Nassau, Bahamas ๐ง๐ธ and even Santiago and Havana, Cuba ๐จ๐บ our little extra time in passport control did allow our bags to come out quicker so mine was already out by the time I got to baggage claim ๐ I got back into my car and drove up back home to enjoy the rest of the month before heading off on another adventure once again but domestically this time. Thatโs it regarding this flight on American Airlines from Lima, Peru ๐ต๐ช to Miami ๐๏ธ๐ on the Airbus A321 in main cabin extra and as always between now and the next time, see you in the sky! ๐๐
