[TRIPREPORT] | American Airlines A321-200 | DFW-SMF (Business)| A new journey for my life

Hello everyone, welcome to this trip, that will take me towards Sacramento, CA 🇺🇲.
I will do this trip irl, in 2 months, i’ll come back in the States for an internship with JP Aerospace and others during 2 full months. I will take a flight from Toulouse towards DFW then from DFW to Sac.

Anyway, let’s start our journey, my friend John, just parked the car 🚗 at the B gates parking 🅿️. He will fly to Tokyo 🗼 in about 2 hours.

We went to the departures 🛫 hall and i said bye to him since that his flight departs from D gates, he had to take the shuttle.

I entered the crowded building, there was a lot of people and obviously an enormous amount of flights departing this Terminal . I was shocked. My flight originally was supposed to depart from gate B25, however the plane had a windshield problem and had to be towed towards the maintenance hangar. New gate was B11 , i wasn’t ready to discover the big surprise that was awaiting me:) .
I passed through TSA 🚨🚨🚨 , it was surprisingly fast ⏩ ⏩ , it took 15min.

I finally discovered my plane and guess what? IT WAS AN A321T !! Used for Transco routes ! I was so happy!! Do you know why??! Because business flagship there has FULL extendable BEDS!
Next to it there was an B737-800 coming from FLL🏝️🏝️🇺🇸.

Boarding begun 4 min earlier, what an amazing day! For the moment…

View from my seat 💺 💺 , 5F i had two whole windows.

The seat was so comfy, the IFE screen was huge! 📡📺, there was plenty space for my legs, the headrest was super soft and comfy too. I was definitely going to sleep here 💤💤😴 . The cabin looks modern and clean.

Anyway taking off , only 12 mins late, i’ve never expected this for an American Airlines flight lol 😂 🛫 .

We climbed like a rocket and started cruising at FL320 because of strong winds in the West US airspace. (Above 💯 knots) . I noticed that the aircraft was heading straight for Mexico, unusual for this route. Later, the captain took the mic and said that the flight will be longer than usual for about an hour, cause we will head for CA trough Mexico and then we will turn North ⬆️ towards Sacramento. 3h30 min instead of 2h30min . I was happy cause i will stay more in the Flagship Business class 🤣.

Few photos from cruise, i loved the landscape

The Meal service started around an hour and half after T.O. I opted for a breakfast 🥞 🍳, it was so cool and tasty! A full plate of American Pancakes 🥞, With Marble Syrop and strawberry 🍓 on top of them. The pancakes came along with a vanilla cake 🍰 and a fruit salad 🥗. I was full for the rest of the day. American doesn’t seems to have problems with drinks since that they served me a full glass 🥂 of 🍏 juice and a fresh tea twice during the flight ✈️.

The FA was so kind a polite.

However, things begun to shake since we started our approach into SMF… The weather was terrible, strong rain 🌧️ 🌧️ and winds 🍃 🍃 (about 17knts G25)

The approach was unstable and Turbulent, the pancakes almost returned outside.

But W pilots made it, and i soon saw California land approaching the plane

Landing confirmed, we’re safe into Sacramento! Congratulations to the pilots, and the engineers who created autoland.

At the gate: + last view of our plane, notice how dark it is outside 🤐😧

We were parked at Terminal A , used by Delta, United and ofc AA.

I grabbed my two big suitcases🧳🧳And I exited the airport . Searching for the rental car.

My new life can begin into Sacramento!

Next trip is scheduled for Friday, November 15 , towards a place that Always fascinated me, Hawaii.

Bye for now,

W American W pilots W FA.

Ayy I work this flight all the time at SMF, come say hi when you fly it in real life! Super fun to see SMF getting some recognition both in game and in real life, I feel like it’s unfortunately become pretty irrelevant given all the other cool airports in California

I wouldn’t quite expect this though ;) Great aircraft to fly on but unfortunately neither DFW or SMF are airports they service. Our standard Oasis product is just as good though! (just kidding, I’d go out of my way to take an A321T any day of the week)
