On June 12, I’m going with my youth group on a missions trip to Nicaragua (I went last year also)! From KBHM (Birmingham Shuttlesworth Intl.) to KIAH (George Bush Intercontinental) in a United Erj-135/145. From there we go on a United B739 (United 1714) to (Managua, Nicaragua). On the 19, we return on the same planes!

Hey! I’m going on a mission trip to Nicaragua this weekend (may 20th) out of KIAH as my group is Houston based. We will be flying United 1432 (B738) going and coming back May 30th on United 1433 (B739).

In Nicaragua you will see a lot of Avianca, United and some Copa Airlines aircraft(s). I go there every year, it’s a blast being in the new airport!

Last year a subsidiary of Avianca ATR-72 parked in the next gate to us when we’re leaving. It was pretty sweet!
I went on a similar mission trip to Honduras. Talk about an insane final approach. I think Tegucigalpa was ranked #3 for most dangerous airports.

Well, the doctors here first thought I had meningitis (that’s how bad it was) so they took Cerebrospinal fluid [CSF] but I had nothing in that regard.
They never really ‘determined’ what I had but I am positive it was chikungunya. It was very very severe.
You get fevers, headaches, weakness, joint pain, etc.

You’re right @Sturmovik, Managua is a focus city for copa airlines. I remember my first trip to Nicaragua, it was awesome, also I have friends from there.

Yeah last year we ran out of bottled water one morning and we had to brush our teeth with Gatorade 😝
