As promised, here is the second part of our journey to Dubai 
where it has been a busy 
days exploring all the sights and sounds! So far, I’m 3 for 3 going to night markets 
and have incredible food each time; my favorite has been lamb shawarma 
! Yesterday I did some shopping 
at Dubai Mall then went skiing at the infamous Ski Dubai 
! Enough jabbering about how fun this city has been 
; you probably want to hear about my Alaska Flight, don’t you 
!

What’s nice about living only 20 minutes from the airport in Jackson, is that skiing 
is easy to fit into the day, which is exacly what I did before heading to the airport 2 hours early! After checking in 
and getting quick through security, I got to gate 6 just in time to see our beautiful 2019 built E175 pull into the gate from sunny San Diego 
. Boarding started at 12:30 which gave me time to get lunch (a blackbean 
and chicken quesadilla and iced oatmilk latte), both of which were delicious 
and get some plane spotting in! Due to the timing of my flights’ departure, spotting was mostly private jets as well as United’s daily 737-700 to chicago and another Alaska E175!
We pushed back 
minutes early due to the flight only being half full, and although it was sunny, we did de-ice which took up that 10 minutes, then got delayed due to arriving flights and air traffic control sequencing into SeaTac.
Eventually we left, and it was a beautiful 
departure and smooth climb up to FL360, which we reached while flying over Arco Idaho and Craters of the Mooon National Monument 
! While enjoying the views and getting school work done, our lovely first class flight attendant Savannah came through to take drink orders 
, followed by a snack basket! Of which, I decided on the classic ginger 
, a bag of kettle chips and mini chocolate chip cookies 
!
Alaska’s E175s are quirky in that they are the only operator of the type in the United States 
to have ovens in first class, capable of making hot meals for the first class cabin. Unfortunately, our flight was too short to have hot meals; instead, Savannah came through twice with the snack basket and a few times to refill drinks. On the second round, I had a coffee with cream and sugar 
and more chips.
The rest of the flight was pretty insignificant and smooth. I finished my school work right after the first snack basket 
and ended up watching 2, almost 3 epsiodes of Diners, drive-ins, and dives on Food Network, and just as the 1st was ending, I got this pretty picture 
as we flew over McCall, Idaho 
.
Not long after the second episode ended, we were on descent into Seatle, and with that, we joined the long line of south-east arrivals passing by Mt. Reiner 
. Soon after, we headed into the clouds that Seattle is known for during many parts of year due to its rainforest like climate 
One of my favorite part’s of landing on the 16s’ at SeaTac, is the amazing views of Seattle/Boeing field KBFI on short final which is home to the Museum of Flight which in turn is home to many incredible exibits including the first 747-100, 787-8 prototype, a super constellation and much more, and the airport is also one of the homes’ for Boeing’s three B777-9X aircraft 
!
On this particular day, although I was able to get them in the picture frame, all 3 777-9X’s were lined up on the north end of the airport along with a plethura of max 8’s! If my memory serves me correct, there was 2 United , 2 Icelandair 
, a Southwest, a Ryanair and Allegiant -8-200, and 4 Garuda Indonesia 
!
As expected with the EJets, the landing was incredibly soft 
, despite there being a 12 knot left crosswind. Soon we were clear of the runways and taxiing into C concourse! One of my parents amazing family friends - Jodie, is a senior captain for Alaska and was able to snag this picture of my flight 
while holding short of 16L for departure to Anchorage as AS189 aboard… ironically, a max 9!
