Hello IFC! It is to my great joy that I get to announce my new Flyout Series! It is a very complicated and large undertaking so here is an overview of how it will work: How it works Every month (December 2019 - December 2020) will have a featured region in the US or Canada with 2-5 featured airports. Each airport will get a Flyout! Here’s the monthly schedule (please note all exact dates are TBD): December (2019) - Southeast Florida (MIA, FLL) January - Way out West (DEN, SLC, PHX) …

This February, the featured region is the DC Area! The other events are Baltimore (BWI/KBWI) which is below, and Washington Dulles (IAD/KIAD) which will be posted later.

Washington National is a great airport close to the heart of Washington DC! You can see most of the classic American airlines there! It also features special departure and arrival charts because of its proximity to restricted airspace. You can find the charts here.

Flew to DCA in June. SKETCHY approach

No kidding. I went to DC a few summers ago and sat on the grass near the WW2 memorial and could see the planes banking for approach. It was mesmerizing but I little frightening 😂
