Trans Polar Boeing 720-048 EI-ALA.

This Boeing 720-048 EI-ALA (LN-TUU), named “Roald Amundsen”(1) of Trans Polar was photographed in February 1971.
Lima Alpha first flew on October 14, 1960. It was accepted by Aer Lingus on October 25 of the same year and was named “St. Patrick”(2). Trans Polar bought the aircraft on October 16, 1970 but it was repossessed by Aer Lingus on May 18, 1971 and renamed “St. Pappin”(3).
Lima Alpha was operated later by Club International Inc., Pioneer International (as “City of Niagara Falls”), Hanna Industries and finally, Aero-America, before being scrapped in 1983.
