I understand that the training server is full of trolls and most people don’t know everything yet, but please don’t cross the ILS cone and insert yourself arriving traffic to runway 25R at KLAX (which shouldn’t have any arriving traffic to being with but it does) when I just spent 10 minutes+ giving you vectors to 25L. This is the most common example but it happens everywhere, I hope some training server pilots will see this and land on the correct runway. Often times these people have been cooperative through their whole flight plan deviation, but simply might not understand that runway assignments aren’t mere suggestions.
Now, I don’t mean to create a complaint thread, but there are some important issues that any training server pilots seeing this topic might correct. When you receive an “expedite altitude change” instruction, idle throttle pitch forward to increase speed if possible (unless you got a speed restriction). Often times, I’ll see aircraft at 5000 ft approaching the ILS come for an ILS approach. You gotta get down to 2500 before the cone, or else your gonna be vectored around again. If you’re projected end of descent is in or past the cone, you need to increase your descent rate. Don’t avoid using spoilers, gear, and flaps. If you receive a second “expedite altitude change,” you really need to get down. Put out the spoilers, accelerate to a high IAS if above 10,000, or decelerate to gear and maybe flaps speed. Get gear and flaps out.
The purpose of this topic is to inform training server pilots about how to improve their flying and to show how detrimental poor piloting can be to controllers workload and to other pilots experience. I hope this topic improves at least one person’s flying. Again, this is not a complaint thread. Feel free to discuss other issues but don’t merely complain about the training server. That gets us no where.
