Since we are going to get the engine start/stop feature for global, which I’m really looking forward to, there is another little thing which should come with it: In my opinion it would be great to have a “tow” option, basically a button which let’s you go ahead with 3-5kts with your engines out just the opposite of the Pushback button.
IRL Towing is used for big jets in order to get them into or out of their gate without blowing away any airport equipment with their engine idle power.
Just a little thing that would make a big difference in realism of the engine start/stop feature…
Interesting idea, but where would you be towed to/from?

I get what you’re saying, towing planes in/out is a vital function at airports like LAX with tight spaces. Don’t think IF will ever see it considering there aren’t any terminal buildings to begin with. Nothing is to stop somebody from taxiing over (what in the read world is) a terminal building, grass, or what have you.

I feel like this isn’t really needed I would so much rather have newer aircraft and reworks on older aircraft before the developers decide to work on this, a very unique idea though!

I don’t think it is needed as we don’t even have terminal buildings yet, But I think this is a great idea to improve realism.
I like the idea. It’s as simple as having both a ‘push back’ and a ‘push forward’ button.
Not only do aircraft get towed forwards into gates, after pushback often the aircraft is towed forward a small distance to clear intersections etc. it’s extremely common to tow forwards.

It’s essentially a reverse pushback if you want to think of it like that.

Yeah Frankfurt does this to seperate the outbound aircraft from parked ones for engine start

I think this would be a great idea. Also I forgot to add that it would be good if you choose to park in a hanger.
