Welcome to another trip report! Today, we’re flying JAL on of their older Boeing 787-9s. We’ll be flying all the way from Tokyo Haneda to New Delhi, with an expected flight time of 8 hours and 30 minutes. Surprisingly, boarding started just 15 minutes prior to pushback! This could only work in Japan, I’m gonna be honest…
Well, this is our home for the next 9 hours: Seat 29A.
Pretty soon after boarding we started our taxi out to Runway 05. The winds were calm, only about 2 knots.
Before I knew it, we lined up on Runway 05, ready for takeoff!
Takeoff was a little bumpy, but soon after it smoothed out, we started climbing.
Our first meal service for this flight! I went with the Rice Noodles and Vegetables. And, man that was good! Cruise was also quite bumpy at first, as we were flying right over Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park (富士箱根伊豆国立公園 ).
Cruising somewhere above China in this picture, as the Flight Attendants make their rounds for the second Meal Service. This time I had the good ol’ Chicken with Rice.
Can’t forget Nepal off to our right side, I managed to get a glimpse through a right hand side window. I was amazed by this view…
Soon after, we started our very steep descend into New Delhi and were lined up with Runway 28.
The visibility was very bad, only about 2nm. (This picture shows 3nm, as I couldn’t get 2 to work in the Replay) But, the Pilot still managed to successfully land the aircraft. (FYI: It has been buttered.)
Touchdown in Delhi, as stated above, very smoothly.
Taxiing to our Gate, as a company 787 pushes back.
At the Gate in Delhi, 1 Minute early… What could I possibly do with all the extra time I have now!?
Hope you enjoyed, until next time!
