As the title suggests, it’d be a great QoL addition to add a toggle in the map settings to hide all aircraft in AP+ (in the background).
Why this is needed
In congested airspace, the map can become cluttered with a mix of both active and AP+ aircraft, making it difficult to quickly identify which aircraft needs to be onguarded.
While ATC must still enforce separation between active and background aircraft, radar controllers could benefit from temporarily hiding them to focus on active traffic, then re-enable and show AP+ aircraft as needed.
Proposed Solution
Add a checkbox/toggle under the map settings, perhaps under the current “Hide Aircraft” menu:
- [On] Hide aircraft in AP+ / background.
- [Off] Show all aircraft (current behaviour).
This would greatly improve map readability and ATC’s situational awareness whilst reducing the need to individually check aircraft to determine their active/background status.
