To all plane spotters on the IFC what camera and lens do y’all use?

Just curious what other people use :)

It seems the Canon EOS 6D Mark II is pretty common. Adding on might I say the 100-400mm is quite a fine addition too depsite not being on this model and being an utter weight to your wallet.

Did i mention I know nothing about cameras? Sorry. #Moritz’d-it

Don’t have it yet but I’m saving up for a Nikon D3500 and 18-55 and 75-300 lenses

i have a canon 70d with a 55-250 as my main lens. it’s a solid camera for starters imo

I currently use a Canon 250D (SL3) along with a Tamron 100-400mm lens, I use a Tamron 18-270mm when I’m closer proximity to the subject.

I can’t say I’ve seen too many photographers have the same setup. I do know @den.aviation and @Guxk both use (used) it.

Someone please tell me why the Nikon 100-400 lens is over $3000

I have a Canon T7 and use a Canon 75-300mm lens. Although I’m looking for an upgrade.

I use a Canon EOS C500 mark II! Takes marvelous pictures!

I suffer from GAS :(

Any lens I have on my Z fc since I sometimes get surprised by an unexpected arrival / departure.

If you want to get into spotting, a Nikon D3500 (I had the D3400) with the AF-P duo 18-55 and 70-300 will get you pretty much everything.

AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR

AF-S NIKKOR 50 mm f/1.8G

AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR

NIKKOR 500 f/8 Reflex

Because it’s a professional grade mirrorless lens lol if you want a budget 100-400 for DSLRs get a Tamron or Sigma. I wouldn’t worry about gear too much especially if you’re just starting out; I’ve seen people with very budget setups get amazing photos and unfortunately I’ve seen people with multi-thousand dollar rigs not know how to use them well.

I use a Canon SL1 and a Tamron 70-300. I also have a Canon 28-135. I’m hoping to get a 150-600mm soon!
