Global, the thing that transformed Infinite Flight into a true flight simulator. It the entire world seem reachable and transformed average flight lengths on here from around 40 minutes to around 4 hours, with the possibility to fly for days on end. Let’s celebrate 9 years and look at Infinite Flight was like before global?
Firstly, the regions existed. You had multiple regions, some in Asia, some in Oceania, some in Europe among other places, however, the big one was Southern Californa, it was mayhem. Airports that get maybe a few virtual flights a week now like KNUC were hotspots, pilots flew every single plane there, from tiny C172’s to super jumbo A380’s, it was chaos and not in the good kind. A single runway and limited parking was a horrible combination, they didn’t fly far either, normally only from KLAX, a mere 56nm away. What I also remember is when global was in development pilots often tried to test their luck by going outside the regions, the staff weren’t happy, people were getting banned in record numbers. What about the scenery?
It’s fair to say that it really compares nothing to what we have now and after looking back at the many screenshots I grabbed it’s fair to say that it was extremely green for some reason. Live water was also there, probably one of the only features I genuinely miss. In terms of detail, it was actually weirdly quite detailed closeup but it also wasn’t very realistic because of its greenness, hard to describe really. What about aircraft?
Towards the end of regions, you had some big-ticket items such as the 787 which was introduced in late 2016 and the A320 family which was released in the same year. I can’t express how amazing these aircraft were at the time, the fanfare around them was similar to that of the A350 release, only bigger. They’re a bunch of things I’ve missed but feel free to let me know

I have not flying in Infinite Flight before global but after reading this, I was actually able to make an image in my mind on how it was.

Always flying from Eham to Ehrd or Eheh and that days after each other because I had very few choices XD.
Also the water looked so much better back then!
Sure brings back memories. I think we all remember the KLAX-KSAN/KLAX-KPSP/KLAX-KNUC flights. Those were good times, and it serves as a reminder as to how grateful we should be for Infinite Flights progression over the last few years.
Jee back in the day KSAN-KLAX was such a popular route, I used to fly that always!! Got so used to the route i knew it like the back of my hand! Great times
I would often fly from between WMKK (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) and WSSS (Singapore) I had to monitor my flight all the time because LNAV was not stamped into the game and I always get confused when I press the “HDG” button, wondering why my plane is banking like an airshow. And I remember cruising only at FL230 because I think that how all planes in the world do so. Half a year after the release of Global, I disappeared from IF only to come back in January 2020 the changes I witnessed was less than I thought maybe because I would occasionally bump into IF’s video on YouTube but never play the game. When I came back I was so elated because the A350 was finally here FINALLY . I was also suprised about the A320 rework. The map borders is also a change I liked since I am little bit of a geo enthusiast and the master battery switch got me confused why my landing lights are not working, I struggled with the new UI for a while but I adapted to the new environments since my return
I remember how busy KSAN and KNUC were. It was to fun. There’s was always ATC and tons of planes with you. The scenery quality was amazing before. I could easily spot my house.
