Ever since the first day Qatar unveiled its RetroJet on the Boeing 777-300ER, I just had to believe that the developers and community would agree to have it in the next update following its unveiling. There’s something so mesmerizing about it.
I will admit, there have been many times where I’ve been anxious about a post regarding this one being added.
Till this morning…
When I woke up about the wonderful news about 25.1s arrival, I scrolled down to check out the livery list and under Boeing 777-300ER, I saw “Qatar Retro”. I had to wake up, get out of bed and go to my computer to the blog just to make sure my eyes weren’t seeing things. Lo and behold, when I started up a flight on simbrief and loaded the sim up, there it was…
And a big part of me screamed in excitement how much I wanted this one (as much as the KLM 777-300ER). It’s an absolutely photogenic livery that’ll be flown quite often!
The first official 25.1 flight lasted 13 hours and 46 minutes with the Retrojet amid server/AP+ teething issues that were resolved from OTHH to KORD where this jet has flown here many times before! A greasy landing to follow and a smile on my face just knowing that I got what I, and we wanted!
