This Airforce C17 Wears The Qatar Airways Livery. Here's Why

Why?

Why does Qatar Airways have a Boeing C17 Globemaster in its fleet?” That’s what many people ask when they see the aircraft.

This C17 isn’t actually operated by Qatar But the aircraft does have the same owner as Qatar’s Airways, which is owner by the government of Qatar!

Why?

Finally the answer you’ve been waiting for!

A crew member said that certain civilian airports around the world (London was used as an example) restrict aircraft that are visibly from the military. Therefore, with this aircraft taking on the livery of a commercial airline, it is allowed to land while other military aircraft may not be permitted.

Thank you! ;)

You would think the airports would just restrict the operator, not the look, but this aircraft makes a lot more sense now…

This is quite interesting I must say!

Thanks for this post. I saw it at RIAT 2019 and was wondering about it the whole day.

Also, doesn’t Qatar also have an Ilyusin Il-76?
