Hello peoples ๐
So as some of you may know, I recently started going after my dreams of being a certified pilot. Before today, I had taken two lessons in a Cessna 172N based at KVGT. This lesson however, was in a much newer Cirrus SR20 based at KHND!
The winds were pretty bad during my lesson (15 gusting 21 when we took off, 24 gusting 27 when we landed) so it was definitely more challenging than my last two lessons.
For this flight we would be taking off from HND and departing to Jean, NV, where we would maneuver over the dry lakebed and practice patterns at the local airport.
Before that however, we had to stop and get some fuel:
And my mom, who came along with my instructor and I, decided to take this photo of me in front of the plane:
Before long, we had called to taxi to the active (which was my first interaction with ATC, previous lessons my instructor handled coms). We also taxied by some blackhawks and the crews that exchanged waves with us:
Then I took off and began climbing out to Jean:
It was bumpy. Like, super bumpy. It didnโt stop us from doing some steep turns and a power-on stall though >:)
Then we set up and did three patterns at Jeanโs airport (a little windy!):
Sooner than later, it was time to return to KHND. Because we were flying with the wind, we had a GS of almost 170 lol
I flew the right pattern and landed:
Unfortunately FR24 didnโt track the patterns, but here is what the flight looked like:
What did you think of my little flight? I sure loved it, and the winds made it kinda fun ngl ๐
Thanks for looking!
@MaksimFerguson are you proud?
