I believe that is an Angle of attack (AOA) indicator. It measures how much lift the wing is producing and it can basically tell you when you are stalling.

provide a visual representation of how much lift is being generated by your wings for a given airspeed . - not my words LOL

yeah it is, for approach you need to maintain 3 degrees, for steep approaches like EGLC you maintain 5 degrees

This is unfortunately not correct as what you are referring to here is the glide slope angle, which is the steepness of the final approach to an airport. It is not directly related to the Angle of Attack.
