The United States has given the UK the thumbs up to buy 16 new CH-47 “Chinook” Helicopters.

These CH-47s are extended ranged aircraft allowing them to fly farther then the previous Chinooks use to fly.
"The United Kingdom is a close NATO ally and an important partner on critical foreign policy and defense issues,” the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said in a release announcing the approval.
The CH-47 is a twin engine, tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter built by Boeing.
Nice. I’m not a helicopter fan, but that is one sleek bird.
Dangerous comment I will make you be a whirly bird fan ;)
I love the Chinook, I would love get typed on it one day!
We’ve been through this before Mark, we all know Fixed Wing is better!
Ooh yay! It’s a bird, it’s a plane, nah fam it’s a helicopter.
@anon93248082 have you seen that water extraction video with the chinook?
That bird is one solid build!
At one point I knew the crew chief who filmed that video! Such a sick video lol
Good move for the UK has the rapid response capabilities they need to move resources as well as load capacity to move personnel.
