The US says Okay to the UK for new Chinooks

The United States has given the UK the thumbs up to buy 16 new CH-47 “Chinook” Helicopters.

These CH-47s are extended ranged aircraft allowing them to fly farther then the previous Chinooks use to fly.
"The United Kingdom is a close NATO ally and an important partner on critical foreign policy and defense issues,” the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said in a release announcing the approval.

The CH-47 is a twin engine, tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter built by Boeing.

Good move for the UK has the rapid response capabilities they need to move resources as well as load capacity to move personnel.
