Hello, it’s been a while since the last Trip report of mine.
Hopefully, now, i’m back to explore more and more fantastic (or not) destinations.
Today wasn’t a exception.. Flying with me is never boring trust me.
Everything began in the warm, humid, cloudy Houston . I wanted to escape from here. Since that Summer vacation started a week ago, i asked myself: "Theodore, do you really want to stay on your bed forever? " . This simply horrific tough made my lazy brain starting to think where i should go to “relax” myself (remember this for the afterward) . **ST THOMAS OFC " , eureka, i’ll lay down in the white beaches
(instead of my bed) .
On June 26, i woke up and went straight to the airport, the big one, IAH. (Sorry HOU lovers) . It was a great day for flying, CAVOK, calm wind .
I took the sky train to Terminal C where my flight was scheduled to depart from.
So here we are, gate C4 , were a magnificent 737MAX-8 was waiting for us. UAL nailed the livery, it looks so great on this airplane.
We boarded the plane, i was seated in the back almost over the gears. The flight attendants were smiling and relaxed .
We proceeded to taxi to runway 15L, i saw this bird to DOH :
We took off facing south, Next to the United Academy and Some maintenance hangars:
Somewhere over Florida, guess the city
Then, the paradisiac Caribbean islands showed up, i took so many photo but unfortunately there’s a limit here, so i selected this one
Uneventful flight, expect the fact that UAL Entertainment Syst is magic. There was so many movies, that i spent the whole time searching for one (that i never watched since that i slept the whole time , goodness gracious me) . The cabin is super clean, the blue mood light makes me feel like i’m in a rocket
to the moon
.
--------------------------The Unexpected?--------------------------
I woke up to the voice of our chief flight attendant (that felt like a cold shower for waking up). She was saying to fasten our seatbelt , raise our tray table as we were approaching Thomas Islands.
Five minutes after, our Captain informed us of a strong crosswind raging at the airport, mixed with a wind shear, of course.
Bumpy approach, but we made it to final. Then suddenly i felt like was passing out, the plane dropped like a certain thing in the toilet , towards the ground. We slammed the ground and then applied full throttle towards the sky. Our winglet got "damaged ". Everybody was screaming
, as if we were in Slenderman.
As i was sweating heavily, we ended up touching down (not smoothly) in a 29knts gust wind.
Everyone applauded the pilots!
We stopped at gate 8 in this (very) small airport.
I deboarded, thinking “you wanted action, you got it” . Some passenger were arguing " never again, NEVER" and some other things that i shouldn’t say here.
Anyway, U.S virgin islands are waiting for me,
See you in the next story,
I’ll be going to North Korea ,
