SimBrief integration is a very nice and much-appreciated addition to the sim. However, there’s no point in using it for FPL importing when many times you will get an FPL that is supposed to look like this:
But in the sim, it looks like this:
And many more airports nowadays use updated standard procedures with new fixes that in the sim are located perhaps on the other side of the world creating these flawed FPLs. You can imagine the pain of every single time having to type in the coordinates and overall spending more time changing the FPL when this function was designed to save us time.
The best solution if it’s doable would be that if the system doesn’t find a determined fix in the coordinates where it should be, it creates the fix where it’s needed instead of taking another fix with the same name but in a different position.
For the moment and until we don’t get this update, I’ll stick to the best way to import FPLs exactly as they should be by converting them with third-party websites. But I wish that the developers could see this and consider the navigation update as an urgent need that should be done routinely first, to make their other new features fully functional, and second, to stick more to real-life navigation.
I feel very grateful for the integration of SimBrief and since this is a constructive opinion, by no means do I intend to hate on the devs.
