The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE

Hey guys, I’m planning to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE to play Infinite Flight with. I am just wondering if in your opinion, is it a good device to run IF overall, as in 60fps with max graphics and anti aliasing?

Hi Hayden!

In typical Samsung fashion, the Galaxy Tab S7 FE has a few different storage/memory configurations:

64GB storage, 4GB RAM
128GB storage, 6GB RAM
256GB storage, 8GB RAM

Which version you get would have an effect on how well Infinite Flight performs;

4GB RAM is only just above the minimum requirements and given that hardware-wise the S7 FE is nearly 4 years old, it would probably struggle, particularly at busy airports. If you want consistently decent performance you would want to get the 6GB model at least.

If I’m being honest, if you want this kind of performance (which is very demanding) you should probably look into something that’s newer hardware-wise. (e.g. Samsung S9 FE). You would be probably needing something with at least 6-8GB of RAM and a good processor to get maximum performance out of Infinite Flight.

I see, I think I’m planning on getting the 6GB one.

I don’t have the FE. Just the “regular” Tab S7 with the Snapdragon 865 and 6GB RAM. Not quite the same chipset unfortunately.

But I highly doubt you can run everything maxed out like that unfortunately.

You’d probably struggle to find something in that price range that can run Infinite Flight at max settings. That takes some quite high specs, which comes at a cost.

Just for reference;

My regular S7 tab runs everything maxed out at barely 60fps (it drops to mid 50’s occasionally and down to 30’s when around airports like KSFO with dense 3D buildings)

But, it’s also heating up quite a lot. Meaning that it will start thermal throttling after a while and performance will be lowered.

What settings do you think I will have to set if I were to get the S7 FE?

I didn’t try anything extensive now, but keeping everything at maxed with 30fps might work.

Hmm okay…let me try and check out the S9

I have the S9+ and I would take the moment to say its the beat purchase I done. Bought it secondhand but it was new not used for $600

You can get it pretty cheap, I would highly recommended it. And also its the same chipset as my S23 Ultra and its even better on the tablet as it has better thermal protection and doesnt overthrottle itself.

Then I guess I will see to the Samsung S9 tablet FE, thank you!

UPDATE: I think I will go with the S9 FE. However, I see some people who say that the processor is weak on this one. Does anyone have a Samsung S9 FE tablet?

Do you still have the Anti aliasing setting turned ON on your (regular) S7 Tab?

Yes. I can’t fly without that :)

You will struggle with that one. I know budget is important for people and I respect it. If you want a powerful tablet go even for the S8 Ultra. See the FE versions as the A series of the Samsung Tablet lineup.

Okay at this point, I think I’ll just go with the S7 (not FE). I see it in the device compatibility list and it says it runs Infinite Flight very very well so yeah, thankss

Wait, what does anti-aliasing add?

Edit: wait, never mind, a quick Google search answered my question

UPDATE: I think I’m gonna get the S8 now.
