Welcome back to another spotting topic, this time featuring movements during Munich Security Conference which finally returned after a CoViD-related break in 2021.
A short disclaimer in advance: Since the security conference brings government planes to Munich it’s kinda inevitable to avoid politics with these pics, however, this is not a place to discuss politics.
But let’s get started with the pictures. In contrast to previous years, traffic was less spectacular and weather wasn’t the best so I decided to limit my attendance at the airport to saturday with some usual visitors like the German chancellor arriving on a GAF A319 as well as Irish Air Force and Hellenic Air Force business jets.
A new sight was this A319 of Qatar Amiri Flight painted in a new - some might call it more boring - color scheme departing to Doha.
Before proceeding to the highlights, let’s also mention a frequent flyer during the security conference weekend. One of the bavarian police’s helicopters departed in quite a spectacular way passing low over all spotters.
In former years, the UK would usually send their BAe 146 Jumbolinos which are about to be phased out soon, so this year, the visit of Boris Johnson brought us one of the new A321neos operated by Titan Airways in a nice new color scheme.
Maybe not the most spectacular plane, but it took me quite a while to finally get a picture of it - TC-ANA, the government jet of Albania.
Besides the Royal Australian Air Force’s 737 which I sadly didn’t get during the weekend, the visit of the Ukrainian President brought us the most interesting - yet not biggest in terms of size - highlight of this year’s security conference: the Ukrainian government Antonov 148 on arrival from Kiev.
Not necessarily conference related, but a shot I wanted to get for a long time was the departure of an Emirates A380 with Expo stickers climbing out of Munich with some nice cloud background before banking towards Dubai.
