Hey everyone, I was looking at the Phoenix Awakening event for this Friday and Saturday and came up with what I think is a pretty fun and realistic idea.
The main route for this event is Taipei to Phoenix in an A350, flown by Starlux Virtual and a few other VAs. Those flights are scheduled to depart around 12:00Z, and with a roughly 13-hour flight time, that puts their arrival into Phoenix at about 01:00Z (7:00 PM CST).
Instead of flying the long-haul route, I’m planning to fly Southwest’s longest operational flight (and my favorite airline): Honolulu to Phoenix in the 737-8 MAX, and time my arrival to line up with the A350s from Taipei. This should create a busy, realistic, and fun arrival wave into Phoenix during the event.
That puts my departure from Honolulu at 19:30Z (1:30 PM CST), with an arrival into Phoenix around 01:00Z (7:00 PM CST).
I think this would be a really fun and realistic way to experience the event. I’d love to get a group of Southwest MAX 8s to do this with me. If you’re interested, reply here and we can friend on Discord.

Fun and smart idea! Thankfully though everyone is able to use the ATC services of any event even if they aren’t flying the event’s featured route. I know this is pretty much unrelated to your idea since you’ve mentioned doing an event in another event which is a quite interesting idea, but if this isn’t allowed for any reason you can join @SouthwestVirtual and suggest them to do a route from/to Phoenix like many codesharing VAs do at events.
