This will be my last S&V topic for a while, the Qatar livery looks terrible with the Open Beta replay ‘ghost’ lighting so I’ll wait until there’s a fix for that.
After an incredible 5 days in Dubai, we’re flying to the other ultra-modern, ultra-luxurious and ultra-expensive Gulf coast city with the other world’s best airline- DOHA!!!
We got to the airport at 6AM to catch our flight to Doha. This was slightly earlier than needed, to allow us more time to explore the airport. However, we were not in the main terminals- we were in the tiny regional terminal which somewhat lacked the glamour of the international terminals.
Boarding. FlyDubai’s seats are alright- not too uncomfortable. This is more of a literal ‘air bus’- no IFE, not expecting any service- just to and fro for a cheap price.

Moments from a buttery smooth touchdown
Deplaning in Doha. Well, this was a fun flight- we had some nice aerial sightseeing off the Dubai coast, and our flight vanished into the world between worlds called AP+ for about 18 hours. More of a flying intercity bus than anything, but still a nice flight!
We are going to spend 5 days in Doha, starting by visiting the Museum of Islamic Art and walking along the Doha Corniche to enjoy the skyline views today, among other things, then Souq Waqif tomorrow, and visit Katara Cultural Village on Day 3, enjoying art, performances, and the beach atmosphere. Finally, we are going to end with visit to Khor Al Adaid, where we will admire the dunes and a beautiful sunset before our 17-hour marathon of a flight to Auckland on Day 5.
