The papi lamp still can't see clearly

Everyone knows that the papi lights in the game can’t be seen clearly during the landing process. The lights are not bright enough, and the landing process is very inconvenient, and there are two, not four.

I’m not asking for the function, but explaining the problem of the brightness of this papi lamp.

I think theyre bright enough. How far out are you from the airfield?

Doesn’t Changi already have 4-lens PAPI?

No airport has them. Changi does have the 2 lense on both sides of the runway, however.

It’s double two lens PAPI lights so they are basically two lens PAPI lights. Or there’s two runways close to eachother.

I can see them pretty clearly.
Maybe you want to turn up the brightness of your device?

Here is my view from about 8nm distance (KSFO)- clearly visible.

And here a real flight approach nearly the same distance…
I can see the real one even not as good as IF.

But when you have trouble with your device seeing them, you might want to post it under Support

And when you want to make a Feature Request, like Benny said, then you can vote for various Papi light requests, or open one yourself, when you got the required trust level.

I zoom in then I can see them.

Of course it might make a huge difference, which kind of device someone is using: quality of the display, resolution of the screen, LED, OLED, AMOLED display, and especially: the size

I play on an iPad Air 5 and have a very fine resolution with high contrast and the screen is big. So I definitely can see the papi lights from 10nm away without zoom.

I understand it must be completely different- what I never did- playing on a cellphone. And there might be huge display quality differences between different brands as well.

So for better visibility for users of small devices, I voted for the 4 Lights PAPI.
And it might give a better feeling whether you are on the right glide slope with 4 lights, rather than just with two.

True Story, no fibbin.

I brought my Infinite Flight to the Optometrist and told them I wanna get some custom glasses so I could see the PAPI lights from a normal playing distance.

We went to a darker corner in the shop to show them what I meant (playing IF with cockpit view and showed them my approach and what PAPI lights are), screen was extra clean and told them because I think I have something wrong with my eyes 'cause I can’t see these PAPI lights and the guy there said: “Huh? Even I can’t see them!”.

SO to anyone here who says they can, maybe you guys have 200/200 vision above the rest, wearing +plus glasses, are playing from a tablet with retina display (if that does anything), or a magic phone and whatnot, or maybe project them onto a wall. But the rest of us have a hard time catching it normally, as is.

It’s not invisible, of course we know where it is, but they’re hard to catch or make out.

The option was to wait a week for a custom or get a ready made specs. Ended up buying an expensive magnifying glasses that fits just right on my face and my IF-life have been bliss ever since.
Oh also… I can see them PAPI lights now! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

But point still being, the glasses-less optometrist said “Even I can’t see them!”.
