The marvelous Maldives (FLIGHT 3)

Good morning everybody from Male the capital city of this beautiful archipelago in the Indian Ocean known as the Maldives 🇲🇻🏝️ where after a great vacation here, it’s time to begin the long way home starting with a 3 and a half hour flight to Dubai, UAE 🇦🇪 on an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER where I will catch a 15 HOUR flight to Miami 🏝️😎 and to be completely honest, I am a bit nervous about this journey home no not the 15 hour flight that I am 100% positive I can tolerate but what will be the problem is the actual arrival into MIA. It has been raining there NONSTOP many flights have been either delayed by a lot or straight up cancelled which isn’t a good thing, luckily the EK flights to MIA haven’t been affected to badly but still and I’m wondering if my car is submerged as well but forgetting about my possible worries in back home, let’s put our attention to this flight from MLE to DXB. I got to Male’s Velana International Airport 3 hours before my departure as Emirates had recommend all of us to do. Security didn’t take long at all to get through since there weren’t many departures on the international side of the airport so we cleared security in like 10 minutes or so. The airport itself isn’t big since it only has one runway and the airport itself is on an “island” well not really but it’s pretty much in the water kind of reminding me of New York City’s 🗽🍎 LaGuardia airport a bit. But this airport DOES have its own dedicated sea plane terminal with a LOUNGE as well which I find cool since the MLE is the worlds busiest airport in terms of sea plane operations but enough talking about MLE, let’s head to the gate!

FLIGHT INFO

Origin: Velana International Airport 🇲🇻 (VRMM)
Destination: Dubai International 🇦🇪 (OMDB)
Flight Time: 3:38
Boeing 777-300ER (Emirates)
Server: Expert

Velana airport is one of many across the world lacking jet bridges with passengers boarding with the help of air stairs which I honestly always preferred as an aviation enthusiast of course but here is A6-ENG an 11 year old Boeing 777-300ER delivered to Emirates in February 2013 which will be taking us back to Dubai this morning after it had just arrived here from DXB 2 hours ago or something now we’ve seen this plane many times so let’s get on board.

I think you know how the cabin is arranged at this point so let’s just skip to my seat 31A, which is decently comfortable for this short 3 and a half hour flight and yes I do find this comfortable enough for my 15 hour journey back to the 305 🏝️😎 it has pretty much all you need for a long haul flight or even a shorter one like this one. Anyways, boarding didn’t take long at all and soon we began pushing back for our trip back to the home of Emirates, Dubai.

After a kind of turbulent rotation, we are off the ground and airborne!

It’s now time to say our final goodbyes to the marvelous Maldives 🇲🇻🏝️ I seriously hope to return one day especially for my honeymoon when/if that even happens.

We made a slight bank to the left pointing us directly to Dubai shortly after departure and pretty much kept going in a straight line over the Arabian Sea, we would be cruising at FL360 for this trip and the crew began preparing a kind of “brunch” meal service we had a nice rotisserie chicken along some crackers with cheese, side salad, tiramisu for dessert, water bottle and beverage of your choice which I chose a nice refreshing coke. We also did have bread to accompany the main meal but it was a warm croissant with cheese and ham inside, essentially a breakfast sandwich which was strange but tasty which is all what truly matters. The crew also seemed to be in a great mood even being happy to hear stories from us passengers about our time in the Maldives 🇲🇻🏝️ so I can’t say nothing else but 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ now as a kid I was OBSESSED with the Titanic idk why I just was, I heard the story and was just fascinated about it. I saw the movie once and never really again due to its sheer length but it was on the IFE but I still decided to watch The Simpsons instead but that’s a good choice to watch for my next flight to MIA!

After a few episodes, we were soon flying over the coastline of Oman 🇴🇲 so we are now back over the Middle East which means our approach into Dubai was imminent but it was quite strange which I’ll tell you about soon.

Now that we have begun our descent into DXB you are probably wondering, what went wrong? Well nothing really but for some odd reason we had to take many sharp turns on our approach even though there is NO terrain obstructing the approach so we should of have been able to have a straight in approach into Dubai’s runway 30L but for some some reason we didn’t I’m not sure why we did this but if we didn’t, it could’ve of cut maybe like 10, 15 or even 20 minutes from our flight time but it’s fine since this plane is comfortable anyways.

After many unnecessary turns, we are now on final with no worries for now since the rain in Miami 🏝️😎 is still a problem in my head but let’s not let that ruin this beautiful approach into DXBs RWY 30L.

After a really smooth touchdown, welcome to Dubai! And now for the conclusion, this was another really good flight and suits the Emirates pride really well. Great crews, IFE, meals, nice aircraft, seats there really isn’t much to complain about but there was really nothing to highlight on this journey except the crew listening to our stories about it vacation but other than that, it was your average Emirates experience.

Not long after we arrived at our gate, and after another quick passport control 🛂 and baggage claim process, I was back in the city of Dubai to explore the last things I need to check out since I only have 9 hours here since my flight back home would be departing at 2AM and EK suggests arriving 3 hours before departure but anyways, I’m hoping you enjoyed this flight from Male, Maldives 🇲🇻🏝️ to Dubai, UAE with Emirates on their Boeing 777-300ER stay tuned for the final leg of this trip back home to the magic city 🏝️😎 and as always between now and the next time, see you in the sky! 😉👋
