Took these pictures of the Indian Air Force’s top aerobatics demonstration team, the “Surya Kiran” squadron (transl: the “Sun’s Rays”) zipping past Mumbai today. With a few pigeons trying to outdo them. Hope you like the shots!
They currently use the BAE Hawk Mk-132, but historically, they’ve usually flown the HAL HJT-16 Kiran. That’s the aircraft which gave them their name too - the Surya Kiran team.
They’re basically advanced fighter trainer aircraft, with a more souped-up engine configuration and smoke canisters.
