The Future Of “Josie Pepper” and other Humanoids at Airports

Josie… You’re needed at Gate 3!

But who’s Josie?

Meet Josie Pepper!

Josie Pepper is a English speaking humanoid at Munich Airport in Germany. This humanoids Job is to help Lufthansa Passengers at Terminal 2 on everything that you could possibly imagine at an airport! Whether it’s help on getting to your gate or a store… Or on what time your flight begins boarding! She can do whatever a human can do but she… Well, isn’t Human at all!

“Josie Pepper’s “brain” contains a high-performance processor with a WLAN internet access. This creates a connection to a cloud service where speech is processed, interpreted and linked to the airport data. What sets the system apart: When this robot type speaks, it does not just deliver pre-defined texts. With its ability to learn, it answers each question individually. Just like a “real” brain, the system gets steadily better at combining questions with the relevant information to provide more precise replies.” (Munich Airport)

My Opinion:

I’m thrilled to see this come with Lufthansa’s new livery outfit! I think that this is the future and I think it’s great that these things will be there to help you!

My Questions:

Will these replace humans overall down the line (TSA, Gate Agents, Customer Service, Customs, etc)?!?

Could we see other airports and airlines using this by the end of 2018 or should it be tested more?

What’s Your Opinion On This?!?

Robots can’t replace human work. That’s all I have to say. Wow. Nice find

Someone better not spill water on it.

Good idea, if robots fly planes, all we need is a little water

I think I found a new salesperson motto…

“Sir, you’re under arrest for attempting to smuggle water on to the plane.”

I don’t think that robots will be able to replace humans in every line of work. I mean, who’s going to control the robots ;)

I wish this could be in every airport in the world

Let’s hope she doesn’t end up like hitchBOT:

She seems pretty helpful, can’t wait to see funny videos of her messing up on YouTube :)

I want to talk to this robot just to say this 😂:
“Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto. Mata au hi made!”

It’s a little sad that after successfully crossing major big countries

It’s destroyed within 2 weeks of it’s Journey into the US
