The final vertex of that infamous triangle (FLIGHT 1)

Back in the day lots of people had an obsession or some type of fear of the Bermuda Triangle 🇧🇲🔺 especially since most ships and plane that have traveled over the triangle go missing. But this is obviously all just a stupid hoax as lots of planes and ships en route to the Bahamas 🇧🇸🏝️ and the Turks and Caicos Islands 🇹🇨🏝️ go over this area and one hasn’t gone missing since 2017 and people can be partying on a cruise ship en route to Nassau all enjoying their time not knowing that they are in a “cursed” space. The Bermuda Triangle has 3 vertices since it’s a triangle those are Miami 🏝️😎 San Juan, Peurto Rico 🇵🇷🏝️ and the actual island of Bermuda 🇧🇲🏝️ itself which a overseas territory of the UK 🇬🇧☕️ now I’ve actually gone to 2 of the 3. I’ve been to Miami because I live an hour north of it and I frequently go down to visit or fly out of there and San Juan which I visited a year ago for a convention and briefly visited on my end of year cruise on the MSC Seascape from December 2022. Now that leaves arguably the most important one and what actually gave it the name it has, well I did technically visit Bermuda 🇧🇲🏝️ before it was back in February on my friends Bombardier Challenger 350 en route to Tenerife in the Canary Islands 🇮🇨 and back but they were both only for technical stops mainly to refuel and because of that, we were all told to stay on the aircraft so it doesn’t really count. But today that all changes as I actually visit the British overseas territory properly this time and give it my opinion and see how it compares to the other 2 points of the triangle. After a smooth drive down to Miami International Airport, I made my way straight to the TSA checkpoint as I already checked in online and wasn’t going to be checking a bag as I was fine on my own with a personal item and a small carry on. As a pre check member, security was a breeze and was soon airside to walk around a bit of American Airlines home here at MIA, the north terminal concourse D and due to my status, I was granted access into the AA admirals club here and simply got a small bite to eat and relaxed up here watching the action out on the ramp as the evening rush approaches and many widebodies get ready for their long haul missions, the lounge is pretty decent and I wish I could visit more often as my stays are really short and sometimes my gates aren’t too close to it or there isn’t enough time to truly enjoy them before boarding starts. Speaking of boarding, I made my way to gate D33 to check out the Airbus A319 taking me to Bermuda 🇧🇲🏝️ this evening!

FLIGHT INFO

Origin: Miami Intl 🇺🇸 (KMIA)
Destination: L.F. Wade Intl 🇧🇲 (TXKF)
Flight Time: 2:11
Airbus A319-100 (American Airlines)
Server: Expert

Taking me over to Bermuda 🇧🇲🏝️ this evening will be N703UW, an almost 26 YEAR OLD Airbus A319 originally delivered to US Airways in November 1998 before joining the American family in December 2013 and with it coming to AA, it surprisingly got a retrofit on the inside which contains the “new American” interior that they rolled out years ago and wish would come back along with fitting the aircraft with sharklets. Boarding commenced on time to hopefully depart on time but we will see about that. 🤔

American Airlines has 128 seats on ALL 3 of their A319 variants which are the Oasis, EX-US Air which still haven’t been retrofitted and the new American ones like I’ll be flying on today. They all have 8 leather upholstered recliners in a 2-2 configuration and 120 Recaro CL3620s in a 3-3 configuration making up main cabin with 24 of them being extra legroom main cabin extra seats. My seat will be in the standard main cabin in 20A which was decently comfortable and provided a decent about of legroom as well. As this isn’t an overnight long haul flight, no extra amenities were waiting for me on my seat and boarding was soon completed and we were ready to go right? Well not really.

We actually got delayed for about 30 minutes thanks to a no show, now this wouldn’t really be a problem but he CHECKED A BAG so now the ground crew had to unload ALL the bags return his and load them ALL back on once again and this process can take some time. This unfortunately costed me a view of the sunset 🌅 off the coast of Florida 🏝️🐊🍊 but I still enjoyed it over MIA as well. But 30 minutes we were good to go, we made our way to runway 8R and took off in NO TIME to try and make up time lost from this unfunny prank.

My left side seat proved to be a great choice as our departure not only took us right above downtown Miami 🏝️😎 but also Miami & South Beach which was definitely a sight to see at night! 😍

We reached our cruising altitude of FL330 right after passing above Freeport, Bahamas 🇧🇸🏝️ and the crew commenced the snack and beverage service, I was given a choice of beverage and biscoff cookies which i accompanied them with a tasty Coke. This is the standard for US carriers in economy on short-mid haul flights like this one. This isn’t the Middle East or Asia we don’t get hot meals and I’m totally fine with it as I don’t think a meal is needed on a 2 hour and 15 minute flight especially if you ate in the terminal. The crew were actually pretty happy about spending time in Bermuda 🇧🇲🏝️ and actually seemed to like their jobs despite that random guy thinking it would be funny to check a bag and not show up causing a delay they earn 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ now the thing that sets this interior from the other AA narrowbody interiors is the inclusion of seat back entertainment, the Thales TopSeires system is provided featuring a good amount of movies, TV, music and of course the moving map! Gogo 2Ku satellite WiFi is provided as well which once again comes at a price I chose not to pay for. So I guess some Rick and Morty will keep me entertained for this flight!

There wasn’t much to see outside for majority of the flight since it was night time and over water but we soon began our approach into Bermuda 🇧🇲🏝️ it take us flying to the south of the airport passing by the airport on downwind before turning base and landing onto RWY 30. It felt strange landing into a place like Bermuda at almost midnight it would make more sense for a daytime arrival as you can’t really see much at night.

Our turn to base went without problem and with nothing but water out the window, we are established and ready to land onto BDAs RWY 30!

And just like that, welcome to Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport about 30 minutes late which was fine since majority of us will be heading straight to our hotels since it’s midnight and even our scheduled arrival time was still fairly late at night but seriously, why does it arrive this late you pretty much waste a day. AA did provide a pretty normal short haul product on this flight with their service but the highlights for me were the crew and entertainment despite the delay, the crew didn’t take their disappointment against us and the inclusion of PTVs on this aircraft is amazing! I wish AA believed in them like Delta and JetBlue but either way I would’ve still enjoyed this flight a lot and would definitely fly them again!

Even though we were late and all tired, the pilots still let me take a visit to the cockpit which I couldn’t pass up on and it just looks AMAZING at night! 😍

Our late arrival and even scheduled arrival time meant there was really NOBODY in line for passport control 🛂 which is definitely a true plus now I’m fine with this flight arriving late at night and we are supposed to arrive a WHOLE HOUR after Bermudair’s flag carrier of Bermuda 🇧🇲🏝️ flight from nearby Fort Lauderdale 🏝️🛥️ even after a cockpit visit and being the last one in the immigration hall, I still made it out quicker than I would at MIA and even FLL during peak hours. Like I said I didn’t check a bag so I was soon out to my Uber on my way to the hotel to relax for the night before waking up and grabbing my rental car and exploring what the island has to offer! This will be it regarding my flight on the American Airlines Airbus A319 from Miami 🏝️😎 to Bermuda 🇧🇲🏝️ stay tuned for my return flight home on Tuesday and always between now and the next time, see you in the sky! 😉👋
