From the days of propeller planes to the modern era of fly-by-wire jets, the evolution of commercial aviation has been nothing short of remarkable.

In this blog post, I’d like to take you on a journey through the history of commercial aviation, highlighting some of the key milestones that have led us to where we are today and ask you a very important question - what does the future in aviation looks like?

The Early Days of Aviation
The history of aviation dates all the way back to the 18th century, with the first successful human flight taking place in a hot air balloon in 1783. However, it wasn’t until the early 20th century that the first powered aircraft took to the skies, paving the way for what would eventually become the commercial aviation industry.

The Golden Age of Propeller Planes

Technological advancements, sustainability, and passenger experience will shape the future of the aviation industry.

This word is weird to me and I have no idea why

I think the next generation is supersonic travel, with the Boom Overture leading the way. Also the 737 should have 757 gear because at this rate it’s going to have GE90s

The 707 was 1960s, not 1930s/40s.

World War II really had a huge effect on piston airliner technology. The world went into the war with no long-haul planes other than airships and flying boats, and came out with DC-4s and Stratocruisers and Constellations.

The 1970s could have been the start of an age of supersonic travel but for environmental concerns and the oil crisis. When the 747 came out, Boeing expected it to be obsolete in a matter of years and relegated to slow cargo service while passengers flew at Mach 2.

Sustainability will definitely be a big theme going forward. UAVs will also come out in an increasing number of roles.
