Hello everyone!
Since everyone else has been doing their spotting recaps, I figured I’d do my own now as well since I won’t have much time to spot until the new year.
This has been my first year of spotting using a real camera and I am thrilled to be able to take such amazing shots and being able to learn new spotting techniques and camera knowledge from people such as @ThatOneFloridaAvGeek @Alaska170 @AndrewWu and some others. Anyways here are some of my personal favorite shots.
Enjoy the photos
Throwback to what felt like yesterday when I journeyed to Palm Springs Airport to try out my Nikon Z7. As one of my first shots with the camera, this has to be one of my personal favorites.

First time making the inevitable decision to shoot with backlit. While most of the shots did in fact to turn out to be backlit, this one certainly stood out from the rest, mainly because it wasn’t backlit as much.

Some time in early 2024, runway 24L was being worked on which forced larger aircraft such as A380s and 747s to take off on the south side which gave me an opportunity to get up close to these giants while taking off.

On my first trip to Honolulu, Hawaii, I decided to head to the airport early in the morning to catch some of the cargo departures along with some special surprises such as F-22s and KC-135s

During my second trip to Honolulu right at the start of summer, I decided to go to the airport during the afternoon to catch the iconic ANA A380. While not my personal favorite turtle, I got to catch Lani on her return flight back to Tokyo.

After my two week cruise, I ended up in Rome where on my way home, I had some time to spot some departing aircraft and more. In my topic, the community voted that the ITA A339 was the best shot and I totally agree!

One of my favorite shots of the year without a doubt

After two days of unsuccessful spotting at the Pacific Airshow 2024, I headed to Los Alamitos for some better weather and hopefully to actually get a picture or two. Fortunately there was a lot of action around the base, including some emergencies such as engine and hydraulic failures.

Had to squeeze in at least one Golden Hour spotting session and one at LAX can never disappoint!
