Today, we leave Addis Ababa for Nairobi. Certainly a very nice few days in Africa’s highest capital city- Ethiopia is a very interesting crossroads of cultures. The people are amazingly friendly, the scenery is incredible and the food is great- but all good things come to an end, and it is time to head to our next destination.
Today we will fly on Ethiopian 308, which is a partial red-eye flight. We got to the airport very early- 1 AM- and fortunately the check in was smooth; the desk attendant was very helpful. After a short nap in the waiting area, it was time to board our ride to Nairobi.
Our ride to Nairobi is ET-AWK, one of Ethiopians’ Baby Dreamliners. Ethiopian’s long-haul economy product seems alright- slightly cramped, standard; glad we’re only flying for 2 hours.

30 minutes after departure, we were served very nice, fluffy injera flatbread with aromatic, spicy beef stew. One of the best economy class meals I’ve had for a while, 9/10.
After that, I took a short nap while Jen watched a movie. Even though it was slightly cramped I had a good hour of sleep.

Disembarking in Nairobi. Overall, a very solid flight- the crew was really friendly and the food was great, and according to Jen the IFE is quite good, except the seat was a bit of a squeeze. Ethiopian Airlines and Ethiopia is really underrated in general.
Anyway, we headed to our old friend and former colleague Kamau’s place to deposit our luggage and catch up with each other before we leave for safari tomorrow afternoon. Crazy to think the last time we met was at Adam’s wedding in 2006! As soon as he found out we were coming to Nairobi he offered to accommodate us, what a chad
