Boeing 757. Being my first aircraft flown on as a 7 year old boy. Climbing onto Britannia airways flight BY532A from Manchester to Faro, the excitement was irreplaceable. Now at almost 37 years old, the image of that first step on board is a crystal clear memory il probably never forget. The power / sound of the RB211s, the steep climb, the view out of the window as we rocketed away from the ground below us, an avgeek was born. Boeing 757 is a one of a kind aircraft.
Widebody - the A380 as I took my first long haul flight with it
Narrowbody - I would say the 717 because i had the pleasure of flying one and I find it a loud but fun aircraft to fly
The global Express biz jet. The original. Main reason why is that I saw it before it was first shown to the public. Its first flight also was on my birthday. Saw the plywood mock-up and toured the plant, where most non employees don’t ever see. Plus I was a personal guest of the bossman of Bombardier aircraft. Saw each step of the building of the Dash 8 Q400.
The Lear 45 is what I learned to fly in FS2004. I flew thousands of simulated hours in that jet and biz jets just became my favorite. High performance and a FL510 altitude ceiling made it fun to fly coupled with a 2000mi range made longer flights more interesting needing to stop and fuel. I am looking forward to FS2024 with their biz/VIP based missions.
Piedmont and the 737 combined power my enthusiasm.
Piedmont for their customer service. Served Coke in the bottle.
The 737 for never letting me down. There were some armrest clenching flights but no cancellations.
Here’s a little bump to this topic! Would love to learn more about people in this community and an aircraft that means a lot to them!
The American Airlines MD-80 for sure
United 787, only partly because I’m waiting to board one now. Back when United replaced their 747-400’s on this route with 787’s, it made flying this route a lot more enjoyable (747 interior was very dated).
But I love both planes.
There was no one aircraft, but a few different points.
What Started It: OV-103 on STS-128. I couldn’t even really see the vehicle itself, but it was my first time giving a flying machine any sort of dedicated attention and boy did that never go away

What Truly Kept It Going Forward: watching (mainly) f15s through binocs in the distance flying almost right at you at eye level, leaving a massive trail of heat, before going vertical and broadcasting this howl for all to hear as it approached.

What Runs It Today: somewhat often flights, starting with the crj-200 back when i was small enough to be comfortable in it, even if it’s a short regional hop in a e175, b737 or a320. Also watching maddogs and bae146s/rj85s in the summer coast by low in the distance fighting fires.
TL;DR:
STS OV-103
Nat Guard f15s
crj200s and now e175s, with some a320s and b737s mixed in, plus some md80s and bae146s/rj85s
For me it was a flight from Paine field to San Francisco in a United e175 from then on I’ve always loved the e175
