Pedro, our beloved aircraft, was feeling extra confident on his afternoon flight back to his home sweet home in Lisbon, Portugal. As he revved up his engines, he mistook the airport’s runway for a catwalk—strutting with all the flair of a runway model. Passengers giggled as Pedro tried to do a little wing-wagging dance during lift off, nearly causing a few spilled wines and disturbing food sitting on the seat back tray tables.
Once airborne, Pedro decided to show off his “in-flight entertainment” skills—by attempting to do aerobatics. Unfortunately, his idea of “aerobatics” was more like a wobble and a wiggle, which had passengers clutching their armrests and giggling nervously. Meanwhile, the cabin crew had to remind him that “loop-de-loops” were not part of the scheduled flight plan.
Pedro may have been a little clumsy, a tad theatrical, and perhaps a touch too confident, but he certainly made Lisbon—Portugal’s most unexpectedly humorous city—a trip to remember. Next time you see a plane wobbling on the tarmac, give Pedro a wave; he’s probably just auditioning for his next comedy routine!
