Every Year The White House Historical Association creates a Christmas Ornament
This Year The Ornament recognizes president Dwight D. Eisenhower
Dwight D. Eisenhower was the 34th president of the United States and he was the first ever president to fly in a helicopter while in office. The secret service thought this was unsafe but he prevailed and on July 12, 1957 he took off in a Sikorsky VCH-34.
The ornament created this year recognizes this feat and created an ornament in the shape of the VCH-34.
Here is the box that it came in showing the VCH-34.
Lastly the main event, the ornament. On one side of the VCH-34 has the presidential seal that represents the two terms that Eisenhower spent in office and on the other side are five stars representing Eisenhower’s military service as a five star general in the army.
If you guys check the White House Historical Association website you can buy this year’s ornament. I won’t post the link cause I’m not sure if that breaches a rule but if you look it up you can find it.
