I think it will be fine if they participate. They have a lot of traits of a VA and work with the IFVARB.

Yes, but they are not a VA, so technically they cannot be put on the virtual airlines database. Therefore, they shouldn’t be part of this awards competition. They are an ATC group, not an airline or flight group.

Yes it is true. I thought our participation is allowed because we run our structures like a VA and use discord, etc and even required IFVARB backing. I don’t mind though, you can take us off the list, it is your choice. Thanks.

Unless there is a change in rules, I’d rather vote that this topic be closed until there is a more fair voting system in place. Makes zero sense for people to be voting for their own VA.

You can nominate your own VA. The voting hasn’t begun yet. I don’t see what’s wrong with voting for your own VA? In the US elections the candidates can vote for themselves.

I see, but how do you account for votes from members of VA’s who have a large number of active pilots and have been around for a long time rather than a newly set-up VA with exceptional organisation and concept but with very few members? In simple terms, how are you ensuring uniformity and non-biased voting in this competition?

To be honest, I haven’t seen much bias so far. A few large VA ceo’s have came to me and chosen to opt-out of these awards, also I’ve seen some VA members/high ranking staff nominate other VA’s as well. Yesterday I also decided that there will be a “runner up” award for VA’s that place in second. I appreciate your concerns though!
