Thank you, an open letter

Hello,

It’s been a long time. I’ve stepped away from Infinite Flight over the past few years, life took me through some big personal changes. But with Infinite Flight celebrating its 10th anniversary, I couldn’t help but look back — and smile.

I’ve been around since the early days. I still remember those classic short hops from KNUC to KLAX in an A380, engines starting the moment the sim loaded, racing to move before five other people spawned on top of you. It was chaotic, clunky — and it was magic.

We had moments where trying to fly from Amsterdam to London would get your engines cut out mid-flight because the regions didn’t connect. But that didn’t stop us. We pushed the sim to its limits, not because it was perfect, but because we believed in what it could become.

And oh, the expert server… The first time you spawned in felt like walking into high school, suddenly everything was serious. You triple-checked your flight plan, taxi speed, and radio calls like your life depended on it.

I’ll never forget the battles for ATC on the training server refreshing and spamming to get tower before someone else did, hoping you didn’t end up as just an observer. It sounds silly now, but those moments mattered. They gave us a sense of purpose and community.

We had Misha’s legendary events, devs popping in unexpectedly, and a community that genuinely cared. We celebrated new liveries like they were holidays. We found friends across the world through shared skies. Update day was the most exciting thing you’ve seen ever, even if it was a hotfix!

Even though I’ve moved on, Infinite Flight will always hold a special place in my heart. It was more than a sim, it was a part of my life when I really needed something steady, something joyful. And I’ll always be grateful for that.

Wishing the whole team the happiest 10-year anniversary. Thank you for the memories, the lessons, and the skies.

With appreciation,
All of us.

A really nice topic and would definitely be echoed by a lot of us here.
