Thai Airways TG635 Business Class review

Thai Airways Business Class:: Royal Silk Review Flight

Flight Date: 2016/05/03
Class of Service: Business (C)
Seat: 15A
Route: Seoul Incheon, South Korea (ICN) to Taipei Taoyuan, Taiwan (TPE)
Flight No: TG 635
Aircraft: Airbus A330-343

Because my midterms ended at 12:00 PM, Thai Airways was my only option since it took 2 hours from my city to Incheon Intl Airport. I do not remember the exact price of the ticket, but I think it was pretty cheap considering it was Business Class.

Thai airways branded their business class product as ‘Royal Silk’ as other airlines such as Korean Air designates it as ‘Prestige Class’

Thai airways branded their business class product as ‘Royal Silk’ as other airlines such as Korean Air designates it as ‘Prestige Class’ Since Thai Airways is a member of star alliance, I was able to enter the Asiana Airlines Star Alliance lounge. Personally, I prefer the martina lounge at Incheon than this one, (becuase the food is more delicious there :) ) But I think that this was ok.image

Here we go!

The seat. This type of seat is called ‘Angled Lie-Flat’ where the seat goes ‘kind of’ flat but it is either not completely flat, or it is flat but is not correctly aligned to the floor. This type of seat is not a very good choice for long-range flights because you may slide down while sleeping (though it is better than economy), this flight was 2.5 hours so I found it very comfortable.

AVOD. Actually it has a very large screenimage
Welcome drinks were served. Orange juice for me :-)image
Noise-cancelling headphones were providedimage

The seat controller. Pushing the M button will activate the massage function but I found that wasn’t that good.image
Since the screen is actually far from the seat, AVOD controllers are pretty usefulimage
Plenty of legroom!image

imageBeverages and salted peanuts were served, which reminds me of the ‘nut-rage’ incident :-)

Best part of the flight- in flight meals! Business & First class passengers can book their menu prior to the flight, which is similar to the singapore airlines ‘Book the Cook’ system. I ordered tenderloin steak.

Image above is the appetizer - shrimp and eggs.

Main course - Tenderloin steak! I found that very delicious, despite the fact that it was an airplane meal. The meat was sooooo soft :-)

The crew will take some bread any time your bread plate is empty

USB port for charging

Desert - Cream cheese cake. My friend was in Economy, and he said that economy class passengers got the same cake!

Even though there were cheese plates and fruits available, I just passed it.

Overall, I would give 4.8/5 because the service was perfect. Professional crews, great food, and arrived on time! The only part I wasn’t satisfied was the angled-lie flat… But quite comfortable for a short flight.

Next post might be on Saint Maarten - Princess Juliana Intl Airport spotting… and looking forward to post my upcoming Delta ONE (Business Class) Seoul Incheon - Detroit flight!

Thanks for reading! I posted this originally on my blog http://tonlesap.tistory.com/98 And this is a translation of that. I’m not a native English speaker, so if there are any mistakes, please let me know.

Well, I would probably think it is pretty safe to say as of right now that you must of had quite an enjoyable flight there!

Yeah, it was a nice flight indeed :-)

Awesome and detailed Trip Report! I love it! ❤

I think it would be a lovely report in flight-report.com 😉

really nice job! im really liking the facts that people are able to share their reviews. I believe that the business class that you were seated in look slightly older than ones I have seen in other photos.

Why does it say A300-600 on the IFE? It’s an A330… confused

Oh I forgot to add an explanation… on the IFE there were some info about That’s fleet, but the A306 was on the list even though they retired it

This is sort of off-topic on my part, but I thought it said “Thai Airways TG635 Business Class Giveaway”. 😂😂

Awesome for a 2.5 hour flight. Not your typical uncomfortable kid kicking the back of your seat, peanuts for lunch ride.

Did you see the 734 on the list? Thai only operates one or two now, and I got a pic of one at Bangkok Airport! I was pretty excited.

Yeah I saw it, interesting that they operate royal silk class on that plane ad well :-)
