This aircraft was accepted as SE-DBH “Ring Viking” on September 18, 1968 by SAS, who leased it to Thai Airways on March 27, 1974. On November 1 of the same year, Thai Airways bought the aicraft outright.
After many years of service with several operators on lease, HS-TGZ was repurchased by SAS on April 1, 1986. Now SE-DBH and named “Dana Viking”, the aircraft was operated by Scanair.
The aircraft was converted to DC-8-63F in April 1989. Aer Turas bought the aircraft, now EI-GCO, on April 25 of that same year.
