Teenager steals airplane

A 17-year-old girl was arrested Wednesday and accused of stealing a plane and crashing it at Fresno Yosemite International Airport in California, authorities said.

The girl climbed a fence at an airport maintenance building at around 7:30 a.m. and gained access to a King Air 200 propeller-driven aircraft and started one engine, Fresno Police Chief Drew Bessinger said at a brief news conference.

The plane began to move and pivot but did not become airborne, he said. It crashed through a fence and into a nearby building, causing substantial damage to the plane.

No one was injured.

Well, that sucks for the owner of the plane, but if I’m honest that seems like something my classmates would do.

I guess he didn’t think of how he was going to land it lol.

Who said you need to land it?

A good landing is one you can walk away from. A great landing is one where the plane is intact.

Dang it Allison, I told you to quit stealing planes!

I feel attacked about the hydro flask

Sad, but lots of kids would probably do that.

Hopefully the owner does not have to pay for repairs.

That’s a lot of repairs 😬. The gear collapsed and probably killed the engine.

Wow! I can’t believe someone would do this! Terrible for the owner, and the girl’s future is ruined basically.

At least practice flying a bit in IF before trying this irl lol

My favorite part of this post is that the pictured aircraft is on the complete opposite size spectrum than the plane in the story.

Just like every other random news company, putting random aircraft associated with some aviation news.

I feel like it went like this:
Editor: “We should probably put an American Eagle jet instead, so that it matches the story”

News Anchor: “ahhhh I don’t know, this uhh 747 or whatever it’s called looks a lot cooler”

Editor: “but it’s not even in an Americ—

News Anchor: “just slap it on there, it’s fine”
