I noticed on steveo1kinevo’s YouTube video on flying the TBM 930 that he lands at about 80 kts. Is that about what others have found to be a good landing speed for the TBM 930 here in Infinite Flight?
Works perfectly for me, sometimes I go up to 95 depending on weight
Yeah I tend to approach at around 100kts and touch at anywhere between 80 & 90. Nice smooth landings every time!
Depending on Weight and Wind, my speeds vary but not by much. I usually Approach at around 95kts and touchdown at 70-80kts.
Works perfectly, smooth landings ;)
Does he actually have a 930?
I thought it were an other version
Correct. I think it’s a 850, but the landing speeds and what not remain the same I believe.
Edit: corrected to 850 (thanks google)
A quick search will show that Steve flies an 850, Quest Kodiak and Grand Caravans. He has a webpage along with a YouTube Channel. Cheers
Yes for that Aircraft I think it is good. IF posted a TBM 930 take-off video on YT and he said to rotate at 90kts.
That is why I think 80-90kts is a good landing speed as you said ;)
I think that’s a good speed to float onto the runway. I bomb it on final as the thing slows down really quick when you power down and put the wheels down. Very maneuverable.
Here is the link to his TBM 930 video: Flight VLOG - Flying a Brand New TBM930 - YouTube.
I found that final at 100kt, then slowing to 90kt, then cutting gas at 30ft works well. My 6 landings so far gave AS at touchdown between 74 and 87. None ended in tears!
I’m no expert though…
Yes I have landed at 80kts and it seems like it’s a guaranteed butter!
Mark is sure to have a TBM landing tutorial out soon, so just check the Infinite Flight YouTube channel and #tutorials every so often to see when it comes out.
You can probably find some manuals online with checklists, Vspeeds and landing speeds. The speeds depend on your weight but I’m pretty sure you can use the Tbm850 or Tbm900 information for the Tbm930
There is a tuto here: TBM 930 Landing
