After almost 19 years of activity in the TAROM fleet, the Airbus A318 aircraft, named Aurel Vlaicu, performed its last commercial flight on the Bucharest-Iași-București route last night.
Landing at Henri Coandă Otopeni International Airport at 20:56, with 103 passengers on board, this aircraft ended its service in the TAROM fleet, leaving behind a remarkable legacy.
This latest flight was watched by more than 25,000 aviation enthusiasts on the Flight Radar 24 website.
The Aurel Vlaicu aircraft contributed both to the realization of the line races and to numerous special flights. Among them are repatriations of Romanians affected by the suspension of other airline operators, the transport of the Romanian National Football Team to the European Championship and the memorable trips of Romanian supporters.
For us, the retirement of the Airbuses is the opportunity to show our gratitude for an important period for TAROM and the beginning of a new era in which the company will focus its resources towards a more modern fleet based on Boeing and ATR aircraft.
Thank you, baby bus, for almost two decades of flying with us! We will miss you and remain grateful for all the memories and successful flights.
Goodbye, Aurel Vlaicu, and thank you for the beautiful memories and legacy you’ve left behind in the TAROM fleet! ✈️
