After a couple of weeks in the maintenance hangar due to an unfortunate run in with a tug on the airport grounds, we’ve been given the task of taking this A-10 Warthog out for a spin before it’s cleared to return to service.
Absolutely blasting out of Moody AFB, heading due east towards the coast
After a few short minutes of cruising over the rolling fields of Georgia, we’ve reached the exciting part of our flight just north of the Georgia - Florida border.
One of the Warthog’s most important features is its ability to fly at incredibly low altitudes. We’re making sure everything is in good working order by skimming the Atlantic at just 250 feet. Normally, this altitude is reserved for combat runs over enemy territory. When doing training and testing, we prefer to do it out over the water to avoid disturbing the local residents and their cattle.
After a few minutes of maneuvering, it’s time to ascend back up into the flight levels for the ride back to Moody.

Descending once again in a more controlled fashion, on the arrival for the lengthy runways at KVAD.
